INTERNATIONAL SERVICE PROJECT (Matching Grant # 67173 )

  Water purification plant at Jangaon Govt Degree College , Warangal (Dt), AP India.

OBJECTIVE:

To provide clean water to about 2400 students at A.B.V. Govt. Degree College at Jangaon, Warangal(Dt), AP, INDIA.

Estimated cost of the project:

$11,300

Equipment required:

• Defluoridation Unit 
• Prefab structure for the unit
• Syntex Water Tanks

Problem & Solution:

• The college has a bore well. The ground water pulled through the bore wells is fluorine ridden which is the root cause of bone deformity among the people of this region.

• Students drink water from the cooler/drinking water outlets which are directly connected to the impure water, coming from the bore well.

• After the implementation of this water treatment plant, their water cooler/outlets would supply clean water.

Sustainability: 

• The college will take care of the monthly maintenance of the plant. (about $25/pm)
• Their engineer/technician can be trained to operate the Defluoridation Unit.

We have a letter from the principal, requesting for assistance.

We also have formal quotations for the unit and prefab structure.
